Big Mouth Comedy Club

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Dear Big Mouth-ers we have been waiting for confirmation from all of our venues but as we now know they are all closed with immediate effect we have decided to postpone our March and April shows until September.

We know this seems a long way off but, as we are taking a break in July & August anyway, this seems like the most realistic time line. So if you have tickets for Stokesley on March 28, this show will now take place on Saturday 26 September and for Saltburn & Middlesbrough the show on Saturday 4 April will now take place on Saturday 12 September.

If you can’t make these new dates then we’ll be in touch in the next couple of days about a refund but we really hope you will consider transferring your ticket to September. These are challenging times and it would mean the world to us if you could help support us through this most difficult of times.

We’ll obviously be monitoring the situation closely and will make a decision on our June show in the coming weeks.

We’ve had some incredible shows and made some amazing memories over the last few years. Our thoughts go out to each and every one of our comedians who like us have lost their livelihood overnight.

Stay safe everyone and we’ll see you on the other side. Imagine how good that first show back is going to be!

As seen on Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week and Russell Howard’s Good News, Nathan Caton is one of the most exciting young comedians on the scene. Gigging since the tender age of 19, over the last decade he has established himself both as a circuit headliner and a name on TV and radio.

Within his first few years on stage, he had picked up various accolades and coveted plaudits including the Chortle Student Comic of the Year award and Broadcast Hotshot and written and starred in a pilot for Paramount Comedy (now Comedy Central) entitled The Nathan Caton Show.

Since then Caton has gone from strength to strength, wowing audiences at comedy clubs up and down the UK, and on his numerous TV and radio appearances, with his delightfully charming blend of personal and political comedy.

A sensational live performer, Yorkshire man, marathon runner and former (double award-winning) Time Out Comedian of the Year, Paul Tonkinson has long upheld his esteemed reputation as one of the finest stand-ups the UK has to offer.  A presenter on Channel 4's The Big Breakfast back in the day, Paul Tonkinson has a bullet-proof set and an abundance of universally funny material. Winner of the funniest joke award at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019, Olaf Falafel is a surrealist comedian and illustrator whose debut stand up show ‘Olaf Falafel and The Cheese Of Truth’ won critical acclaim and award nominations.

As well as finding comedic success onstage, Falafel has also enjoyed online fame with his short viral videos. These absurdist movies include a croissant-coiffured talking Donald Trump puppet, slices of truth telling cheese being thrown onto newspapers and the Bee Gees hiding in his beard.

The comedy website Chortle affectionately described Falafel as ‘an idiot’ and when he doesn’t have a microphone in his hand you’ll probably find him with a pencil and pad trying to draw something equally idiotic.

“Impossible not to enjoy” Chortle

Hilariously observational and not afraid to over-share, Allyson June Smith is a funny firecracker of confessional wit, bite and shame.

Hailing from Canada, Allyson brings a certain North American bluntness to her deeply personal brand of stand up – expect to hear about lost dates and lost days, the birds, the bees, the blues, and all manner of modern life issues facing this decidedly bold female stand-up comic.

Ditching a career as a classroom teacher, Smith has been on the scene since 2000, earning notable celebrity in her home country with multiple nominations for Best Female Stand-up at the Canadian Comedy Awards.

Back home, Allyson also taped her own hour-long Comedy Now special, and scored multiple headline slots at the Winnipeg, Halifax and Montreal’s Just For Laughs festivals. She is a regular warm-up for compatriot comic Stewart Francis, who called her “yet another hilarious Canadian with great hair.”

Another fan is Jason Manford, who conceded: “She has set the bar high! Think I need a different less-good support!”. Ouch.

Scottish comedian, Ross Leslie is a regular at comedy clubs North of the Border  since starting in 2012.

His material on being a father of a very large household has audiences delighting in the crazy images he brings to life. He has taken his debut solo show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Pretty Shy For A White Guy, at the prestigious Stand Comedy Club, earning a 4 star review along the way.  He has recently become the star of the first stand-up comedy show on Scottish Televison for over a decade, the Comedy Underground on BBC Scotland and is a regular writer and contributor to the station’s Breaking The News satirical comedy show.

“He had a robustly put-together set….with a nice variety of gags and pleasing turns of phrase.” Chortle
