Since re-discovering her childhood miniature novelty Yamaha Portasound PSS-149 keyboard in her parent’s attic in late 2018, lovingly scraping battery acid out of its every orifice, and attaching a trademarked Keyboard Stability System (strap), Catherine Burgis has taken it upon herself to visit as many comedy nights in and beyond her home town of Manchester as possible accompanied by this versatile and (crucially) lightweight instrument. Not one to shy away from the big issues, Catherine’s songs range from a thought provoking ballad on the perils of multi-format printing to musical advice on how to achieve domestic bliss in small, confined spaces. We’ve a change to our usual Saturday night this month as we make a one-off move to Friday.

MC for the night is affable, quick-witted banter merchant, Dave Twentyman who survived a childhood in St Helens by evolving rapid, startlingly-bright patter and a smile that he somehow stole from Barry Manilow. This is a man who could teach Teflon a trick-or-two but who remains vastly more fun than your average frying-pan. What higher praise can there be?

‘Inspired comedy’ Time Out

Raymond and Mr Timpkins simply have to be seen to be believed. They are  without a doubt the maddest, silliest, stupidest, cleverest, strangest and everything else-ist as well as the funniest double act of comedians on the circuit.

They're a prop/music driven double act, professionally dancing about and holding up words and pictures since 2004, though they’ve been enthusiastic amateurs for much longer.

Likened to Morecambe and Wise and the Two Ronnies, anyone who can bring the house down with nothing more than a couple of Lidl carrier bags and an Oasis song have to be seen to be believed.

"Explosively abrasive and buttock clenchingly funny as ever......amazingly rabidly good, just go and see them." - 3 Weeks

'What sets them apart is their great chemistry and genuine sense of joy they bring to the stage' (The List)

'This is 21st century comedy at its very finest and funniest' (The Stage).

Comedian in the middle Jack Gleadow takes his inspiration from the golden era of variety and is a One-Man Variety Show with the use of sounds, stories, jokes and a scooter!
